Veritas Academy (10-3) and Faith West Academy (6-4) are battling to keep their seasons alive when they face off in a playoff match this Saturday. Veritas Academy has blown out its past eight opponents, so Faith West Academy has its work cut out for it.
Veritas Academy went up against Vanguard College Prep last week. Veritas Academy got off to a good start with a 38-point offensive effort in the first half. That gave them a 38 - 6 advantage at the half. The offense kept at it in the second half and scored another 57. In the end, Veritas Academy steamrollered its way to an easy 95 - 50 victory.
As for Faith West Academy, its encounter with Lutheran two weeks ago was a 22-point stomp, but the result last week was anything but. Faith West Academy won a game that couldn't get any closer, slipping by Hill Country Christian School of Austin 58 - 57. The slim final margin was quite the scare for Faith West Academy since the team was ahead by a comfortable 16 points at the end of the half.
Keep an eye on the score because it could get pretty high: both Faith West Academy and Veritas Academy have scored a lot of points in their past games (eight in a row for Faith West Academy and 11 in a row for Veritas Academy).
