Softball Recap: Butler Wins Going Away Against Rich Hill

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lone Jack, Butler was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Rich Hill Tigers. The victory continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

Kylee Dubray made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Dubray was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Taylor Hudson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Gabbie Carmichael, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Butler now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Rich Hill, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Butler will welcome Adrian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rich Hill, they will head out to take on Miami at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
