The Lansing Christian Pilgrims will head out on the road to face off against the St. Patrick Shamrocks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Lansing Christian has struggled recently with ten losses in a row, while St. Patrick will arrive with three straight victories.
Last Thursday, Lansing Christian took a serious blow against Laingsburg, falling 85-43. While losing is never fun, Lansing Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 663rd, while Laingsburg is ranked 48th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ethan Damesworth, who scored 15 points along with two blocks. That was a full 34.9% of Lansing Christian's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. David Hall was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Perry scored an imposing 70 points on Thursday, St. Patrick still came out on top. St. Patrick came out on top in a nail-biter against Perry and snuck past 73-70.
Lansing Christian's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-16. As for St. Patrick, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.
Lansing Christian was taken down by St. Patrick 74-30 when the teams last played back in January. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lansing Christian was down 46-9.
