Wewahitchka gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the Graceville Tigers 54-18. The Gators have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.
Wewahitchka was led to victory by Rhemy Patrick and Jacquez Anderson. Patrick rushed for 104 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries, while Anderson rushed for 108 yards and one score on only eight carries. Patrick also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making five total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.
Wewahitchka didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Bailey Cox and Patrick.
Coming up, Wewahitchka will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Branford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Graceville, they will take on Houston County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
