Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Gilbert walked away with it. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-12 victory over Darlington. Considering Gilbert has won eight matchups by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Meanwhile, Hanahan entered their tilt with Aynor with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Hanahan blew past Aynor 41-16.
It was another big night for Kevon Rivera, who rushed for 236 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.1 yards per carry. Rivera is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played.
Gilbert pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.54 points. As for Hanahan, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season.
