Basketball Recap: Villanova Prep Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Neil Del Rosario and Carlos Maida

Villanova Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. The matchup between them and the Foothill Tech Dragons didn't end well, with the Villanova Prep Wildcats falling 59-41. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly 18 points.

Carlos Maida and Neil Del Rosario certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Maida posted 17 points, while Del Rosario earned 13 points. Maida's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Nick Turner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Foothill Tech, going 7 for 12 en route to 21 points and five steals. With that strong performance, Turner is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaiden Archuleta, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 10 points and five rebounds.

Villanova Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Foothill Tech, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-13 record this season.

Villanova Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-14 loss against Thacher on the 29th. Foothill Tech has also already played their next matchup, a 64-19 win against Laguna Blanca on the 29th.
