The Oak Hill Golden Eagles and the Madison-Grant Argylls will round out the year against one another at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at. Hopefully Oak Hill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Saturday.
Last Saturday, Oak Hill came up short against Frankton and fell 39-27. Oak Hill has struggled against Frankton recently, as their game last Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Oak Hill got a solid performance out of Alivia Shaw, who scored six points. Another player making a difference was Landri Hardman, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Madison-Grant also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Tri-Central by a score of 53-41. Madison-Grant has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Madison-Grant had strong showings from Maddy Moore, who scored 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds, and Madalee Holloway, who scored 16 points. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Oak Hill's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5. As for Madison-Grant, they bumped their record down to 5-8 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Keep an eye on the arc in Saturday's game: Oak Hill have been dynamite from deep this season, having only made 34% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Madison-Grant, though, as they've only drained 31.3% of their threes per game this season. Given Oak Hill's sizeable advantage in that area, Madison-Grant will need to find a way to close that gap.
Oak Hill strolled past Madison-Grant when the teams last played back in November by a score of 27-11. Will Oak Hill repeat their success, or does Madison-Grant have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
