The Howells-Dodge Jaguars lost against the Oakland-Craig Knights back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Howells-Dodge took a 46-30 bruising from Oakland-Craig. Howells-Dodge has struggled against Oakland-Craig recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Howells-Dodge saw an underclassman step up: Kenadie Throener scored 10 points. Another player making a difference was Ava Noyd, who scored 4 points.
Oakland-Craig's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adi Rennerfeldt, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The game was Rennerfeldt's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Briar Ray, who scored 11 points.
Howells-Dodge now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Oakland-Craig, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Howells-Dodge will be playing at home against West Point-Beemer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully West Point-Beemer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday. As for Oakland-Craig, they will head out on the road to face off against Wisner-Pilger on Thursday.
