This season hasn't been kind to the Flora Wolves, who are still winless after their seventh game. They were dealt a 57-27 defeat at the hands of Woodlawn on Saturday. Flora was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Woodlawn apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
It was another big night for Jase Burkett, who scored 22 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals for Woodlawn. That makes it six consecutive games in which Burkett has scored at least 25% of Woodlawn's points. Another player making a difference was Olivia Skinner, who scored 16 points.
Flora's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Woodlawn, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Flora will head out on the road to face off against Vandalia at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Woodlawn, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wayne City at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Wayne City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 two weeks ago.
