The Lathrop Malemutes lost against the Monroe Catholic Rams last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Lathrop fell 51-42 to Monroe Catholic. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lathrop has scored all season.
Lathrop's loss came despite strong showings from Luke Skinner and Atticus Foley. Skinner scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and two steals, while Foley scored eight points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Jamal Gosier was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Lathrop now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Monroe Catholic, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Lathrop's homestand continues as they prepare to take on North Pole at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alaska (North Pole is ranked 59th, while Lathrop is ranked 39th). Monroe Catholic on the road again on Tuesday and play against Ben Eielson at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th.
