The Pine Lake Prep Pride posted their biggest win since December 8, 2023 on Friday. They put the hurt on Langtree Charter with a sharp 80-56 victory. Given Pine Lake Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while Langtree Charter is ranked 597th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pine Lake Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lucas Strickfaden, who scored 17 points. Robert Magner was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Langtree Charter lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anthony Nesbit. Despite the final result, he scored 28 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nesbit has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Munters, who scored seven points.
Pine Lake Prep's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Langtree Charter, they bumped their record down to 1-16 with that loss, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine Lake Prep will stay at home for another game and welcome Corvian Community at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Corvian Community has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 654 points over their last nine games. As for Langtree Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Community School of Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Community School of Davidson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
