Basketball Recap: York Piles Up the Points Against Anzar

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely York's strategy against Anzar on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the York Falcons blew the Anzar Hawks out of the water with a 64-24 final score. That looming 64-24 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Falcons yet this season.

York got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dedome Demagbo out in front who went 7 of 10 on his way to 16 points along with five boards and five steals. Demagbo has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Miles Fadem, who went 6 for 9 en route to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

York smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

York's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. As for Anzar, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. York will venture away from home to take on Trinity Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Anzar, they are taking a road trip to challenge Monterey Bay Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
