Elliot Christian extended the longest winning streak in Central California AA this week by beating Delta, 55-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Eagles.
Elliot Christian took down the Saints 55-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Brookside Christian's dynamic duo of Austin Caldron and Javier Rodriguez proved tough for Summerville to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Caldron threw for 264 yards and Rodriguez had 127 yards receiving. Zachary Cooper helped Brookside Christian's passing attack out by catching five balls for 63 yards.
Estevon Herrera was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 108 yards as Stone Ridge Christian lost to the Bears. Teammate Kyle Singer added to the ground attack by rushing for 24 yards.
Derek Veneman made the biggest impact on defense this week as Big Valley Christian fell to Amador. The 6-foot-0 senior recorded one fumble.
Brookside Christian's Caldron and Rodriguez have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Caldron has thrown for 1382 yards this season, while Rodriguez, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 23 catches for 598 yards. Jason Tacderan's team's Ben Huckaby leads the league in rushing yards with 626.
The top two teams in Central California AA will face off this week when first place Elliot Christian takes on second place Brookside Christian. Last week, the Eagles topped Delta, while Latef Grim's team lost to Summerville.
There should be lots of points scored when Elliot Christian and the Knights face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Eagles comes in having scored 128 this season, while Brookside Christian has scored 142. Elliot Christian scored 55 points last week as it defeated Mick Pettengill's team.
The Knights and Laton played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Knights eventually emerging with a 6-2 victory. Herrera caught three passes for 24 yards in the win.
