Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Hilton Head Prep beat Bethesda Academy 52-46. The win was just what Hilton Head Prep needed coming off of a 56-33 loss in their prior contest.
Hilton Head Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor Campbell, who scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Britschge, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Northwood Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ben Lippen. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Northwood Academy in their matchups with Ben Lippen: they've now lost three in a row.
Hilton Head Prep's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Northwood Academy, they bumped their record down to 1-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Hilton Head Prep against Northwood Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2021 as the team secured a 75-43 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hilton Head Prep since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
