Archbishop Wood lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Roman Catholic, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's match. Archbishop Wood never let Roman Catholic get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Monday. With that victory, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 7.6 runs per game.
Brady Sell looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Archbishop Wood got a massive performance out of AJ Hopkins, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave Hopkins a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caden Vacca, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Archbishop Wood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Roman Catholic only posted an OBP of .200.
Meanwhile, Neumann-Goretti didn't have quite enough to beat Father Judge on Monday and fell 4-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Saints in their meetings with the Crusaders: they've now lost four in a row.
Johnluca LaSpada was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.
On the hitting side, Neumann-Goretti saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Meitzler, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Archbishop Wood pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Neumann-Goretti, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Neumann-Goretti's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Archbishop Wood hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337.
