The Wake Forest Cougars struggled with assists on Friday (the Rolesville Rams had 15 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Wake Forest was beaten by the Rams 64-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wake Forest has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Wake Forest had strong showings from Jordyn Williams, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and five steals, and Chiquora Miles, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Williams continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
It was another big night for Caitlyn Jones, who scored 31 points along with six rebounds and five assists for Rolesville. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Laila Lewis was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds.
Wake Forest's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Rolesville, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wake Forest will square off against the Wildcats at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Millbrook will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 347th, while the Cougars are ranked 133rd). Rolesville is on the road again on Monday and plays the Pride at 6:30 p.m. on January 29th. Hopefully Leesville Road focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday.
