Wasatch hasn't had much luck against Springville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wasps will look to defend their home field against the Red Devils at 3:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Wasatch turned things around against Timpview on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Thunderbirds an 18-0 shutout. The Wasps not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 10th (when they won 19-1).

Wasatch got a massive performance out of Mckenna Olney, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Olney a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mali Evans, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Wasatch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Springville waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Hawks 10-2. Considering the Red Devils have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Brooklynn Richardson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Allyx Haveron was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaz Ciliezar, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Wasatch's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Springville, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Wasatch hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Springville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.3 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Wasatch might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Springville in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Wasps have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
