Shenango hasn't had much luck against Neshannock recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Lancers at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Shenango 3.7, Neshannock 0.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Shenango's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over New Brighton. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Kennedi Lynn was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zoe Offie, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Cashlin Buckel was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one run.
Shenango kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Neshannock put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 6-2 win over Laurel.
Addy Frye spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 13 Ks.
At the plate, Payton Newman was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Miley Anderson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Neshannock's victory was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Shenango, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Shenango has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Neshannock struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Shenango might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Neshannock in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will the Wildcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
