Garces (Bakersfield, Calif.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 17 points, drop to 10 before the final whistle blew on a 24-14 victory over
Tehachapi (Calif.).
After taking the lead on a field goal by
Christian Curutchague in the first quarter, the Rams led 10-7 at the half.
Garces expanded its lead to 10 points entering the fourth quarter. GHS scored once in the quarter on a
Sheldon Croney touchdown run.
The loss snapped Tehachapi's six-game winning streak.
Coming into the game the Bakersfield school had allowed 19.8 points per game this year.
The loss comes after Tehachapi defeated Foothill 49-7 last week.
