Baseball Game Preview: North Arlington Vikings vs. Dwight Morrow Maroon Raiders

The North Arlington Vikings will head out to challenge the Dwight Morrow Maroon Raiders at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. North Arlington will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

North Arlington proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past St. Mary 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted against the Gaels since May 18, 2018.

The team relied heavily on Rohan Patel, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. North Arlington is undefeated when Patel posts two or more runs, but 5-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Luis Ramos, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Paramus Catholic hit Dwight Morrow with a four-run fourth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Maroon Raiders came up short against the Paladins, falling 10-0. The Maroon Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

North Arlington's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-14. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Dwight Morrow, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.

North Arlington couldn't quite get it done against Dwight Morrow in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 6-3. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
