Triad is 0-10 against Cedarville since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Triad Cardinals will be home for the holidays to greet the Cedarville Indians at 7:30 p.m. The timing isn't great for Triad: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Cedarville has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
Triad struggled with assists on Saturday (Madison Plains had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Triad fell 55-44 to Madison Plains. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Triad in their matchups with Madison Plains: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite their defeat, Triad saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Abbey Overfield, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. That's the first time this season that Overfield scored 15 or more points. Mia Lemay was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cedarville scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Saturday. They walked away with a 40-29 victory over Greenon. The score was all tied up 18-18 at the break, but Cedarville was the better team in the second half.
Triad's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Cedarville, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Triad took a serious blow against Cedarville when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 49-13. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Triad was down 30-9.
