The Parkview Vikings on the road again on Monday and play against the Bolivar Liberators at 7:15 p.m. on January 22nd. Hopefully Parkview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Thursday.
Parkview suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2023 on Thursday. They were dealt a 73-46 loss at the hands of Smith-Cotton. While losing is never fun, Parkview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while Smith-Cotton is ranked 165th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Brooklynn Masten, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brooklynn Haines, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 57 points the game before, Bolivar were a bit more limited in their game last Thursday. They lost to Glendale on the road by a decisive 41-25 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bolivar has scored all season.
Parkview's record is now 0-15. Bolivar's record is now 8-5.
Parkview ended up a good deal behind Bolivar in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, losing 64-50. Can Parkview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
