Artesia has gone 9-1 against Roswell recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The two teams will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 5:00 p.m. Artesia will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Artesia's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Saturday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over Bernalillo.

Katrin Marquez made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three doubles and two RBI.
Marquez wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Makayla Lujan, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Kambry Collins also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Roswell, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against Goddard by a score of 7-3 on Friday.
Like Artesia, Roswell also got a great game from a two-way player: Yadira Aragon. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Aragon was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Bella Ornelas was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple. Emily Marquez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Roswell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .367 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Artesia pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Roswell, their record is now 4-7.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Artesia hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360. However, it's not like Roswell struggles in that department as they've averaged .358. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Artesia's way against Roswell in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Artesia made off with an 8-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
