The Riverdale Ridge Ravens pushed their score all the way to 60 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a rough 82-60 defeat at the hands of Palmer. While losing is never fun, Riverdale Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Palmer is ranked second).
Loss or not, Riverdale Ridge got some senior leadership from Marcus D mcfadden who scored 19 points along with 5 rebounds and Marcus Hinh who scored 17 points along with 3 steals. D mcfadden scored a full 31.7% of Riverdale Ridge's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Dylan Nieto was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Palmer's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jackson Weber led the charge by scoring 15 points along with 8 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Dai?juan Nunley, who scored 18 points.
Riverdale Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Palmer, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Riverdale Ridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Severance at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Severance focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday. Palmer is on the road again on Thursday and play against The Classical Academy at 4:30 p.m. on December 7th. Hopefully The Classical Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Monday.
