Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Trinity Christian School of Griffin LIONS, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 45-36 to the Cougars on Monday. Trinity Christian School of Griffin has not had much luck with Lafayette Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several LIONS players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Leah McLaurin, who scored 12 points along with two steals. McLaurin hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Cheyenne Parker, who scored five points along with ten rebounds.
Carmen Bridges continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lafayette Christian, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Bridges has scored at least a third of Lafayette Christian's points. Reagan Bryant was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three blocks.
Trinity Christian School of Griffin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Lafayette Christian, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-5.
Trinity Christian School of Griffin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lafayette Christian, they will square off against Central Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lafayette Christian is coming into the contest with three straight wins on the road, meaning Central Christian will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
