Even though the River City Raiders scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, the Elk Grove Thundering Herd still came out on top. Elk Grove walked away with a 67-55 win over River City. The score was all tied up 26-26 at the break, but Elk Grove was the better team in the second half.
Elk Grove found their leader in underclassman Noah Hargrave, who scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Acido, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds.
River City's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nickolas Rodriguez, who scored 13 points. Tyrone Orr was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Elk Grove now has a winning record of 3-2. As for River City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Elk Grove will square off against Lincoln at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Lincoln's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for River City, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Johnson at 7:00 p.m.
