San Jacinto Valley Academy has not had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, San Jacinto Valley Academy saw an underclassman step up: Carter Kelly scored ten points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexander Meza, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, San Jacinto Valley Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. This was only their tenth loss (out of 14 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Temecula Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was J.T. Rogers, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Rogers has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Joseph Leon was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds.
San Jacinto Valley Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Temecula Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-14 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Jacinto Valley Academy will challenge the Cubs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. California School for the Deaf-Riverside is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Temecula Prep, they will head out on the road to square off against the Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Nuview Bridge: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while the Patriots have snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
