After three games on the road, Hudson is heading back home. They will take on the Fivay Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fivay took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hudson, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Hudson sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-47 victory over River Ridge.
Among those leading the charge was Tejacion Chapman, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Elias Williams was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 blocks.
Meanwhile, Fivay pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Zephyrhills by a score of 63-61. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fivay in their matchups with Zephyrhills: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Fivay saw an underclassman step up: Antwan Brown scored 20 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Morales, who scored 11 points.
The losses dropped Hudson to 1-2 and River Ridge to 0-2.
Thursday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Hudson have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 39.7% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Fivay struggles in that department as they've drained 43% of theirs this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Hudson ended up a good deal behind Fivay in their previous matchup back in February, losing 73-54. Will Hudson have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
