Tehachapi is 8-2 against North since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Warriors will face off against the Stars at 4:00 p.m. Tehachapi is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Tehachapi made easy work of East Bakersfield and carried off a 19-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.
Cadence McIrvin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Tehachapi let Kayden Grigsby and Mya Gil run wild. Grigsby went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI, while Gil went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Gil a new career-high. Kylei Murphy was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Tehachapi hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, North entered their game against Shafter on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Stars lost 23-0 to the Generals. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Stars haven't been shut out since back in March.
North saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bayleigh Wood, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
The victory got Tehachapi back to even at 9-9-1. As for North, the defeat was their first at home, dropping their record down to 12-7.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tehachapi hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like North struggles in that department as they've averaged .423. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Tehachapi beat North 7-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Stars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
