Softball Recap: Lancaster Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Lancaster entered their tilt with Antelope Valley on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Antelopes a 12-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Cassandra Velasquez made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Velasquez was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jordyn Zinn, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. Another player making a difference was Ashlee Laxamana, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Lancaster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .526 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Lancaster's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Antelope Valley, their defeat was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-14.
