Thornton and Kankakee are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but not for long. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Kays at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Thornton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.5 points per game this season.

Thornton is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Rich Township on Thursday. The Wildcats fell 49-44 to the Raptors. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Raptors recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Deandre Higgs, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Montana Fontanez, who posted nine points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Meanwhile, Kankakee put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past Urbana to the tune of 87-57. The Kays' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Kankakee's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Thornton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Thornton came up short against Kankakee in their previous meeting back in January, falling 48-43. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
