The LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They put the hurt on Island Coast with a sharp 74-52 victory. That 22 points margin sets a new team best for LaBelle this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead LaBelle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alan King jr, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. King jr has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Phillips, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Island Coast's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Izaiah Bacchus, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Terrell Hill, who scored nine points.
LaBelle's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10. As for Island Coast, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LaBelle's road trip will continue as they head out to face Immokalee at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. As for Island Coast, they will square off against Naples Classical at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Naples Classical is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.8 points per game.
