Boone County dropped their record down to 3-13 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Ryle Raiders, falling 10-3. As for Ryle, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by seven runs or more this season.
For Ryle's part, Laci DeLauder made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). DeLauder has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Ryle got a massive performance out of Kam Patterson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run was Patterson's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Rayne Patsel, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
