The Lassen Grizzlies will challenge the Gridley Bulldogs at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lassen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
Lassen is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They skirted past West Valley 9-7. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Cadence Morris was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off 12 hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, Delilah Delgado was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Patty Carvalho, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Lassen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Gridley had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 18-5 margin over the Grizzlies. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 16 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Like Lassen, Gridley also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaydenze Pruitt. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Pruitt was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Gridley got a massive performance out of Delanie Cloyd, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-5. Alexis Alcantar was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Gridley's victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Lassen, their win bumped their record up to 20-10.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lassen hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. However, it's not like Gridley struggles in that department as they've averaged .489. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lassen might still be hurting after the 18-5 defeat they got from Gridley in their previous meeting on Thursday. Will the Grizzlies have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
