This season hasn't been kind to the Fruitdale Pirates, who are still winless after their 15th contest. They were outmatched by McIntosh at home and fell 89-33. Fruitdale was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 65-20.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Deion Taylor, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was CJ Weaver, who scored six points.
Fruitdale struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as McIntosh racked up 12 assists.
It was another big night for Brittney Reed Jr., who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 17 rebounds for McIntosh. Reed Jr. hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Williams, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Fruitdale's defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15. As for McIntosh, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-3.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Millry the next time they take the court. Fruitdale will host Millry at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while McIntosh will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
