There's no place like home for the Raleigh Charter Phoenix, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 43-31 victory over East Wake Academy on Friday. This was payback for Raleigh Charter, who suffered a 52-38 loss the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, East Wake Academy still got an impressive performance from Emma Roche, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Roche is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Butler, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Raleigh Charter's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for East Wake Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing NCSSM: Durham the next time they take the court. East Wake Academy will host NCSSM: Durham at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, while Raleigh Charter will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
