Cypress put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Fountain Valley Barons as the Cypress Centurions made off with an 8-2 victory. With that win, the Centurions brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Delaney 'D.J.' Faus made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. She also scored a run, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Naya Taylor was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Makayla Bishop was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run.
