The Ralston Rams will square off against the Malcolm Clippers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Ralston gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Auburn as they made off with a 20-9 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won three contests in a row.
Landyn Vlcek looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.

On the hitting side, Ralston got a massive performance out of Landen Buechler, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-2. Those four runs gave Buechler a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Vandervort, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs.
Meanwhile, while Malcolm put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Fort Calhoun. The Clippers blew past the Pioneers 24-0. The victory continues a trend for the Clippers in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won four in a row.
Brixon Meyer made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Meyer was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Preston Kucera was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Nolan Duzik, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Malcolm always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Ralston's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Malcolm, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
