The Jones County Greyhounds came tearing into Friday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 78-59 win over Ola. Given Jones County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Ola is ranked 416th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jones County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tay Lattimore, who scored 17 points along with six assists and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Stanley, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Jones County's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. As for Ola, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Jones County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Peach County at 4:00 p.m. on December 16th. Peach County is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Ola will be home for the holidays to greet Forest Park at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Forest Park comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
