After flying high against the Darlington Falcons last Friday, the Hartsville Red Foxes came back down to earth. Hartsville's rough 52-28 loss to Sumter on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hartsville in their matchups with Sumter: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the defeat, Hartsville had strong showings from Tatiana Fisher, who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds, and Jaz Reyes, who scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds. The match was Fisher's sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Hartsville's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Sumter, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hartsville will face off against River Bluff at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sumter, they will head out on the road to face off against Crestwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Crestwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Sumter is ranked seventh).
