Artesia posted their biggest win since January 3rd on Saturday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 81-40 victory over South Gate.
Artesia can attribute much of their success to Jovell Tate, who scored 16 points, and Zion Staples, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. Staples hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Reed, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Meanwhile, Cerritos was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Oxford Academy 81-40 at home. With Cerritos ahead 49-23 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Artesia is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Cerritos, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.
