The Miller Grove Wolverines came into Saturday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They strolled past Clarkston with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 46-30. The victory was just what Miller Grove needed coming off of a 59-11 loss in their prior matchup.
It was another big night for Arieyona Christion, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mariah Presley, who scored three points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Yonan Tewelde and Genet Abatie certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Tewelde scored six points along with seven rebounds and two blocks, while Abatie scored a point along with six rebounds.
Miller Grove's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Clarkston, they dropped their record down to 1-18 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Miller Grove and Westminster will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Miller Grove will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 389th, while Westminster is ranked 159th). As for Clarkston, they and Cross Keys will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Clarkston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 38 on Saturday.
