The Grand County Red Devils will take on the Lincoln County Lynx in a tournament on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Grand County had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Provo on Saturday. Grand County was the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over Provo. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won three matches by 15 runs or more so far this season.
CHLOE Byrd made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Kemree Wells and Kaiya Moore did most of the damage at the plate: Wells scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Moore scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. That's the most hits Wells has posted since back in March of 2024. Zoey Wilson also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.
Meanwhile, Lincoln County won against Moapa Valley on Saturday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. Everything went Lincoln County's way against Pahranagat Valley as Lincoln County made off with a 14-7 win. The Lynx might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by seven runs or more this season.
Sage Carlson was a standout: she scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Kaley Bart was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Lincoln County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in seven consecutive games dating back to last season.
Grand County pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13.5 runs. As for Lincoln County, their record is now 4-0.
Lincoln County's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Grand County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Lincoln County, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Grand County keep running through batters, or will Lincoln County buck the trend?
