After flying high against Dr. Phillips  last Wednesday, The First Academy came back down to earth. The First Academy Royals fell just short of the Foundation Academy Lions  by a score of  4-3 on Thursday.
 The First Academy got a good showing from  Ty Arafet, who   pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (he also didn't allow any  walks).
 At the plate, The First Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Blake Fields, who  went 2-for-3 with a  home run and two  RBI.
 On Foundation Academy's side,  Coby Vallee was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run over five innings pitched. Vallee has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Vallee was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with a  home run and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Luke Garrison was  excellent,  going 1-for-3 with a  home run.
 The First Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Foundation Academy, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-1.
 The First Academy will head out on the road to  take on  West Orange at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. The pair have allowed few  runs on average, (The First Academy: 3.2, West Orange: 1.9) so any  runs scored will be well earned. As for Foundation Academy, they will be playing at home against Geneva at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
