Softball Recap: Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Orrville

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy won the last time they faced Orrville and things went their way on Friday too. The Royals put the hurt on the Red Riders with a sharp 9-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Royals, who have now won seven matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Lily Siemen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Siemen wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Shaye Tepley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another was Claire Hanko, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-8. As for Orrville, they dropped their record down to 0-12 with the defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy will venture away from home to take on Beaumont School at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Orrville, they will host Rittman at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
