The Giddings Buffaloes will head out on the road to face off against the La Grange Leopards at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Giddings will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1300th, while the Leopards are ranked 619th).
Last Tuesday, Giddings suffered a rough 76-54 defeat at the hands of the Ducks. Giddings has struggled against the Ducks recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, La Grange entered their tilt with the Polar Bears with 13 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 14. La Grange claimed a resounding 67-33 win over the Polar Bears at home. La Grange has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 21 points or more this season.
Nathan Scott continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Reece Nygren, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Giddings' loss dropped their record down to 8-18. As for La Grange, they pushed their record up to 23-8 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Giddings took a serious blow against the Leopards in their previous meeting back in January, falling 68-41. Can Giddings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
