The Elkhorn South Storm struggled with offensive rebounds on Saturday (the Millard North Mustangs had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Elkhorn South was the victim of a tough 57-37 defeat at the hands of Millard North. Elkhorn South has struggled against Millard North recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Elkhorn South still got an impressive performance from Aimee Burke, who scored 15 points along with three blocks. Addy Penke was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Millard North found their leader in underclassman Izzie Galligan, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Brylee Nelsen, who scored 11 points.
Elkhorn South's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Millard North, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elkhorn South will face off against Papillion-LaVista at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Papillion-LaVista focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Saturday. Millard North's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bellevue West at 5:30 p.m. on December 7th.
