 Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought  game, but Fort Meade had to settle for  a  6-4 loss against Hardee on Thursday. Fort Meade has struggled against Hardee recently, as their  contest on Thursday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
 Fort Meade also got a good showing from  Ariel Ramirez, who   pitched four innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   two  hits (she also only allowed one  walk).
 At the plate, Fort Meade saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Marleigh Carroll, who  went 2-for-4 with a  stolen base and  an  RBI.
 Lakeland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Fort Meade, their loss  ended  a  six-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 4-5.
