Basketball Recap: Easley Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Ethan Crews and Rj Stack

Easley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-57 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fort Dorchester Patriots. While the Green Wave didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Patriots 17-12 in the first quarter.

Despite the defeat, Easley had strong showings from Rj Stack, who went 9 for 19 on his way to 20 points and seven rebounds, and Ethan Crews, who posted 18 points and seven rebounds. Crews' morning made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Ramey, who put up three points and six rebounds.

Maricious Dawson was his usual excellent self, going 10 of 14 on his way to 24 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists for Fort Dorchester. Those five assists gave Dawson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Samy Ibrahim, who had 12 points.

Easley's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Fort Dorchester, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Easley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 72-26 victory against Beaufort Academy on the 21st. As for Fort Dorchester, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 95-43 win against Military Magnet Academy on the 21st.
