Madison found their leader in underclassman Gavin Gault, who scored 24 points. Gault is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Brady McDevitt, who scored 15 points.
Loss or not, NCSSM: Morganton got some senior leadership from Lawson Taylor and Vedant Chanshetty. Taylor scored 23 points, while Chanshetty. scored 22 points. That was a full 35.9% of NCSSM: Morganton's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Centurion Tzendzalian was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Madison's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-10. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for NCSSM: Morganton, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison will square off against the Warhorses at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Averaging 64.71 points so far this season, Owen's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so the Patriots better be ready for a challenge. As for NCSSM: Morganton, they will head out on the road to challenge the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (Avery County is ranked 573rd, while the are ranked 595th).
